Sneak Peek: Winter wardrobe cravings for River Island!

I am sure you have the symptoms. Your hands are fidgety, your eyes are twitching and the weight of any cash whatsoever in your pocket you want to spend, not to mention the sight of your flimsy summer wardrobe is unsettling you and teasing you. Don't panic! River Island can slake your lust. The new range coming out screams psychedelic but sexy, with everything from studded baseball caps to Isabel Marant inspired Runner-heels. Heavily embellished hairbands that would spawn jealousy from Blair Waldorf and would earn you a place as 'a girl on the steps' among much more to ease your fashion fix.

Cement your style status without losing the accent of your personal style.

What I love about the new attire and accessories is that they are daring. Individually each piece makes a statement! But a clear one. The statement is 'Über-chic' and it is a label every person wants to wear. The playsuits and neckwear had me literally frenzied. I was thrilled to get a sneak peek of the range at the Xmas press event for River Island and I am delighted to share it with you fashionistas! I wouldn't say it lightly but River Island have cranked up their game in the style stakes. Check out the images I papped of what is coming to a store near you...

To spike or not to spike?
I personally embraced this trend with open arms in February on a trip to NY and I haven't looked back since. It is fun to toughen up your image with alternate textures and colors. I love the peaked cap in the RI range with the stikes (studded spikes)

I can imagine any of the closed-toe footwear with opaque tights (with glitter spray on them of course) and your token disco ball festive shift dress. I cannot wait for Christmas. The best thing about this season is the excuse to supplement your wardrobe with some of these keys pieces that have versatility as well as longevity. What is there to lose?

Below is something that I want so badly it hurts. This blue neckpiece is divine. Very Jack/Rose heart of the ocean Titanic stuff. Maybe the old lady didn't drop it in the ocean in the end? ;) Regardless this neckpiece for me is the forerunner of the collection. A bold, blue, brightly dazzling diamante ethereal piece that even with it's modern contemporary influences will be timeless. Costume jewelry at the very pinnacle of what it should be.

And we haven't forgotten the boys! Classic simplicity is key in the menswear range. The mens shirts have really structured collars that are in fact quite sexy. The suit jackets are very James Dean and are crying out to be teamed with a dark shirt and well-shaped denims or suit trousers for a more conservative look. But with the menswear I think the finishing touches are key - such as the belts, jackets and neckerchiefs in the lapel. It's stylish minus the try-hard look.

Here is an exciting vision... What do you think? Have you got your eye on a sequined shrug, fur coat, 1920s party dress or tweed biker jacket? There is a wide variety of attire to cater for all your festive season needs, while quenching your trend appetite.

The William Tempest 13 piece collection will be available in selected River Island stores and online at riverisland.com in October.
William Tempest studied at the London College of Fashion and worked with both Giles Deacon and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac before launching his eponymous line in 2009. William’s flair for creating luxurious, modern pieces has enabled him to count Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Emma Watson as fans. Check out this video of William Tempest's exclusive River Island Design Forum collection in this short film titled "It Will Not Always Be Summer", directed by Ryan Hope.

Happy hunting ladies!

Get the beauty treatment of the rich & famous - Sanctuary Covent Garden DIY micro-dermabrasion!

The likes of Hollywood star Gwyneth Palthrow and Irish model Rozanna Purcell commend micro-dermabrasion for a silky unblemished complexion. They get the treatment done regularly as do many  celebrities and models. People go to great extents to feel gorgeous. Black Swan actress Mila Kunis reportedly had a £4,300 facial using rubies and diamonds to remove the top layer of her skin! I thought her recent canoodling with former flame Ashton Kutcher was the reason she was glowing ;)

These ladies splash the cash in beauty salons but you can enjoy pampering yourself, in a non-harmful manner - at a fraction of the price. You can have the salon experience at home! I adore the Sanctuary Covent Garden range.

I spent €16 on a body butter and micro- dermabrasion kit from the same brand. The texture of the small granules is a lovely sensation and the light exfoliation left my skin feeling fresh, clean and clear. Also, if you apply primer then make up afterwards you will have a really flawless finish. Get Hollywood skin without the hefty price tag and smell appetizing at the same time. Its a win win situation really!

I am an avid fan of the Sanctuary Covent Garden products. They are luxuriant and affordable. I'm in love!

Microdermabrasion targets:

1. Fine lines and wrinkles
2. Crow’s feet
3. Age spots
4. Pigmentation
5. Uneven skin tone

There are many benefits to it such as smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, smoother skin, unblocked pores and even removed blackheads.

''Microdermabrasion is a highly advanced and effective exfoliation treatment for the face and body. It removes dead skin cells, clears blocked pores and smooths out fine lines and wrinkles. This deep, yet gentle treatment encourages epidermal cell regeneration, improving tone and elasticity leaving you with smoother, more radiant looking skin.''

- Therapie Clinic.

The sanctuary covent garden micro-dermabrasion kit is available in Boots and selected pharmacies nationwide.

I have some news & reviews Ladies!

Once you try out the sleep rollers (which I would highly recommend) you should think about your nails and how you can make them potentially the most amazing the world has ever seen!
I have designed 'Lipstick Gossip' nails in collaboration with Dolly Nails and I may be prejudiced (definitely) but I think they are the business :)

I have gotten a lot of questions about a dark lipstick I wore to the premiere of 'The Sweeney' during the Summer. It is shade #04 of the Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick range. I love it! It has great staying power and the vamp-lip look is the epitome of style this season.

In fact the entire range is very feminine. If dark lipstick is not your g-string on a chicken wing there is a wide variety of choice in colours for ladies of all tastes.

I really enjoyed company mag the other day. I sat in a cafe and had a vanilla latte in a cup as big as a small bucket and trawled through the pages. I loved the 'fashion speak' vocab list. You dolls should pick it up. I love when magazines are handbag sized.

I am ridiculously excited about my street style photoshoot with Stellar magazine tomorrow. At 5'3 this will be a day where I will feel like a tall lady & channel the fabulous crazy 'Tyra Banks smiling with my eyes mantra' !!! :-) I am wondering what to wear in light of embracing Autumn and whether I should go for a sleek high ponytail or wavy locks! If this is my biggest issue things are looking good. I am a huge fan of Stellar magazine so tomorrow is a pretty cool event.

I hope everyone is having a lovely week! And remember..

Be Bold, Be Brave & misbehave.

Threw me for a 'Looper' @ the Film Fest!

I recently attended the Film Fest hosted in Cineworld Dublin. Many films, previews and trailers were aired exclusively at the event which was the place to be for cinephiles nationwide. I covered the Film Fest for www.afterdark.ie My review of 'Looper' is now up online.

Click here to read the review of 'Looper' which hits Irish cinemas September 28th.

The make-up special effects were amazing in the film. Joseph Gordon Levitt looked remarkably believable as a young Bruce Willis.

Electric Picnic Withdrawal Symptoms!

A week later and I wish I could go back in time to Electric Picnic. The atmosphere was infectious, the obscure bands exciting and the main stage acts like The Cure and The Killers were out of this world!!!!! The VIP area was a hive of activity. I did interviews at the Body & Soul area and caught up with some of the quirkiest festival-goers and individuals you can imagine.

I high-fived Bono, interviewed Wallis Bird, talked fashion with Paul Galvin and all in all embraced the festival mood! To read all about my adventures clicking the link below:

You can 'HYPE' my festival look on lookbook.nu!

As well as covering the event as a fashion correspondent I was also a reporter for 'In Colour' on RTE 2xm. The show was broadcast on 06/09/12 from Stradbally on site at the Electric Picnic and looked back over the Electric Picnic weekend. You can listen back to the show on the RTE radio player by clicking the link below:

What a weekend! The weather was unreal as were the acts. Wouldn't miss it for the world next year.
